What attracted you to Starbucks?

I was a Starbucks customer long before I joined as a District Manager. I always thought Starbucks might be somewhere I’d like to work as I LOVED the product.  Once I found out more about brand values, it made me even more determined to join as we shared aspirations.

Can you briefly describe your current role within the organisation?

It’s my responsibility to drive standards and values throughout all my stores, by engaging with all partners, improving the customer experience and upholding the quality of our beverages. My Store Managers and partners are critical to this as so much of my focus is on their individual development and how that links to their store’s performance.

What do you love most about your job?

The opportunity to continually evolve what Starbucks means to customers and partners alike, and to see partners grow and fulfil their potential.

What support and training opportunities have you had since joining?

My ongoing coaching from the regional team has been invaluable – nothing was ever too much trouble in order to ensure that I was immersed in the brand as quickly as possible.  I’ve also had exposure to project work which has broadened my skill base.

And finally, if you had to describe Starbucks as one of your coffees, what would it be, and why?

Espresso Roast – it is the heart of all our espresso beverages (reflecting how much partners ‘love’ this Brand and the values exhibited) and has a rich aroma, whilst a soft acidity at times is balanced with a complex, dense, caramelly sweetness – just like me...
