Our mission is to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighbourhood at a time.


And that’s one of the things that really sets us apart. We get what our mission is, because we’re all passionate about our product and the power of coffee. We love how it brings people together and creates communities of like-minded people who come to us time and time again.  And we love that because we’re successful, we get to channel this back into the community – giving us a real sense of place and achievement. In fact, what we like most is that we act as a meeting place for our regulars – who come back to us knowing they can relax, chat and meet people in a space that they are totally comfortable with.

But if you want specifics as to why we enjoy our work, we can happily break it down for you through our guiding principles.

It’s because we have a passion for the finest coffee – all of which is responsibly grown (in ‘ Bean to Cup’ you’ll see we’ve taken the greatest care to protect the quality of our coffee – whilst paying and treating our farmers well and looking after the welfare of the planet too). It’s because of our partners – who embrace each other’s differences knowing it makes work more enjoyable and interesting. It’s totally about our customers who connect with us on all levels. And it’s about our stores where there’s a sense of belonging, familiarity and well-being. All of which helps us reach out to our community (you’ll see examples of how we do this in the community section!). And finally, it’s about our shareholders – who back us and everything we stand for. So in return, we like to give something back so that our business thrives.
